Very low gas millage F15

Hello All,

I have 2016 F15 5.0. I got it as a Executive Demo with 1,600 miles on it. They told me that it was the performance center car, so it must have been through mid and water and all kind of stuff. And i do see lots of mud all of the car. Long story short i get 12.5 mpg highway and 11 mpg city.

The dealer said nothing is wrong with the car they said they get 17-19 mpg when they took the car.

I still see lots of mud on the radiator and I?m thinking that the air filter is dirty as well. The dealer said they will charge me if they?re going to replace the air filter or the anything to do with mud from the performance center.

Is anyone having any issues with gas millage with there F15?

I have a 2015 M6 and it gives me 16-17mpg.

x5 50i is rated at 14 mpg city - if you drive in sport mode 11 mpg is normal - this is V8 twin turbo - this is not a diesel dude. I often get 9 mpg in city when I drive like I stole it. You can get close to 16-17 mpg combined if you drive easy on the pedal

Regarding mud on the radiator - just wash it off man and it's relatively easy to check air filter, you don't have to replace it - just check if it's clean or not

This is my third x5 and we drive it on comfort mostly highway.

As for the mudd, car wash tired to power wash twice a week and, its still stuck.

I had 2015 f15 msport and it didn’t spend that much
Same with 2015 f16

The display on my x5 50i always showing 12.0 mpg is that normal? Doesn?t matter if I use it on sport or sports plus mode..still stays ok 12.0 mpg

That's probably total mpg for all miles traveled so far. If you go to vehicle info there's a separate trip mpg that you can reset and check periodically

I think that's normal for a V8 considering you are in NY. I'm sure on highway you can get closer to 21-22mpg if you drive calmly
