Test drova a X5 M50D

Hi

I test drove an x5 m50d today. What a car. In sport mode it felt quicker in acceleration than my m3 e93 that I sold this summer.

It was a lot quieter than my e70 but under acceleration it sounded like a v8 which came from the speakers, but you couldn't tell it was artificial. It sounded really good.

The real time traffic information worked really well. It was red exactly where the traffic slowed down.

Ceramic was really nice because you got a black gear leaver.

It had 20" snow tiers on and they seamed to be working really well

The sales person told me that all x5 sold in Sweden will have a gps tracking device on it and you have to have a round gps device with you to be able to start the car. I took a picture of the key with that device. Wonder how it will feel in my pocket.

That is some busy, busy badging!

I would definitely debadge, or at least take off the X5 portion.

Sward: Yeah I was surprised by the size of it, however you don't have to press it to disable / enable the system so as long as you have it your person it is fine. It could just be in a bag, or with your house keys. It's not recommended to keep it together with the car keys, because if they keys get stolen they will just disable the tracking device.

Agree that the M50d is a beast. But I think the 40d will be quite enough

If I am understanding you - the M50D "emulates" the petrol TTV8 acceleration sound via the internal audio system?
