front lower grill install help

so i had my lower front grills painted matte black to match my kidney grills, and am not having luck reinstalling. i'd think they would just snap into place...but no dice. masked the tabs when painting to ensure the paint would not interfere with re-installation. anyone have any tips?

TIA

Refer to this thread, I think you need to take off your front wheels and undo the (one time use ) tabs for reinstalling http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1117489

not the side vents.....the lower front "blades" (pics attached). really hate to have to remove the wheel wells. this thing should just snap back into the tabs/holes......right?

Sorry, I was assuming you were talking about the Msport version.
I may be wrong but I think you might still have to remove the wheel well..

Removal looks like you'd have to take the liner off, but I would think install would indeed just be push/snap back in, just like the grilles.
Do both sides not snap in? If you shine a light into the openings, can you see the mating tabs? Maybe it just takes one extra hard push to get the tab to hook on?

success! so the clips require the tab to be pressed into place (from the rear) in addition to being pressed in from the front. there are 2 small screws that can be removed underneath each lower grill area. once removed, the thick rubber above can be pushed upward to gain access to the rear of the clips. took a lot more force than it should have.....but eventually heard 3 "clicks" per side.
