BMW M Performance Power Kit gauge numbers...

I have a question for those who are familiar with the power gauges on the nav screen. What peak HP and TQ numbers show for the 3.5i X5 stock and what does it show after the MPPK installed?

I just want to know for sure because i am going to have my dealer install the MPPK before picking up my X5 and I want to confirm that the software did load correctly. Also did the kit come with anything else besides the "Power Kit" sticker?

Thanks,
Alan

The sports display should say 320/320 stock and 400/400 with the MPPK installed. The power kit for the 35i is just an activation code for the dealer to download and activate the software, so nothing else except for the stickers.

How many hours did the dealer charge you to install the MPPK?

So here it is installed in my 2015 X6 //M Sport.

They charge a single hour on the time of purchase. But plan on it being there for a few hours. They will not charge you for more its just a default charge for the whole install. I was lucky since i ordered it BMW site showed that an air intake came with it. Come to find out, its only a software update so they refunded me 1000.00 for the misleading description they updated the site since. But the power kit for less than 500.00 was a steal.

FYI. They install the //M plate in the engine compartment but they will not install the rocker panel stickers unless you tell them to.

Shift Points on transition that is definitely different. Also feels like the Turbo spool up much quicker. I work where there is an inclosed parking garage and before upgrade i barely heard the turbo and exhaust. After upgrade there is a definite sound change in both. I can hear loud and clear the turbo thru the power curve where it was faint before. And the exhaust is much more pronounced.

I can't comment about this since my X5Msport was delivered with the MPPK installed but all i know is that the engine does sound nicer in this car than I expected. This is my second N55 and my first one in the 535 did not sound like this one. Has a very nice sound to it when you get on the throttle.

35i, not 3.5i. Your engine is only 3 liters.

Well aware of this. simple typo This is my third turbo inline six.

Its the first time having a BMW where its just called X5 and you have to specify another number as your "model" instead of 328,335, 535,550 etc...

Actually no. Even with the MPPK the 35i can't come close to the 50i brute acceleration. One thing though is that i'm willing to bet that throttle response from a MPPK 35i is better than the 50i.

Quite satisfied with the tuned 50i throttle response. Even stock 50i in sport mode is quite good already compared to N55 that I've owned before.

My JB tuned 550 (n63TU) throttle response isn't as good as the MPPK N55 thats for sure. Piggyback tunes does nothing in terms of throttle response fyi...

If anything when i removed my JB tune on the 550 the car felt smoother/better to me even though it was slower.

FYI I've driven the mppk n55 and can honestly feel little difference or the better "throttle response" you mention. As long as you like it it's great, but it's nothing better than 50i.

I think you are misunderstanding what we are saying. Nobody ever said a MPPK 35 is faster or better than a 50i. I am well aware how a tuned n63tu feels like from my 2014 550. I was one of the first one to JB tune this motor.

Can the 50i feel better? Yes. Does the MPPK 35i feel better than a regular 35i? Yes. That is all.

Hi,

I have 2015 X6 and ordered the M Power Kit from factory. However, my gauge only shows 320 HP and torque max. How do I verify if I have the kit installed?

Thanks

Chris

^^ if your gauges still say 320/320 then they never installed the MPPK correctly. I'd contact your dealer about this.

That's what I suspected. Contacted BMW Canada, they said it's installed, contacted dealer, they said it should come factory if I ordered it.

My guess is it's dealer install option and should not come from factory.

Thanks
