HELP Needed on Programming
Hi
Hoping someone can help me - I am importing a 2014 X5 into Canada from the US and need to have the Daytime Running Lights option in the iDrive to be reprogrammed to "always on" (can not have the option to turn it off) I took it into BMW for the reprogramming and they claim my car can not be reprogrammed and that I need to buy a whole new cluster for $3500!! I question this - as my cluster already has all the other features required in Canada (both miles and kms). Does anyone know the code for this reprogramming? Thanks |

I am pretty certain that it can be changed, you have to remember though that BMW dealers don't have access to E-Sys which we can use to change the options on our F series chassis vehicles.
I think it is on the coding cheat sheet, if not I'll take a look at mine once I get the new tokenless system working on my coding laptop. I remember seeing the option, it was fairly obvious. |

Yes, you can code the tail lights for DRL. It's in BDC_BODY and there are only a few lines to change, one to enable/disable and the others to set the intensity IIRC. Just check the master spreadsheet in the Coding Thread a few posts down.
