Well...I priced out shipping and got sticker shock.

The tires are really priced well but I am mostly only considering local pickup now. Sorry friends on the west coast. I tried.

I live in Forest Hill, Md 21050 for all interested.

FedEx should be $35-$50 a tire.

This is a great price. I'd pick these up, but I currently wouldn't have any use for them. Good deal for someone local!

I am just puzzled. I shipped a set of winter tires a couple years ago for about that ($100). The other day I went to ups and they quoted me $300 per tire. The ups Assoc was quoting boxing each tire. When I explained he could just put the label on the tire itself, he still quoted $153 per tire. Then, thinking that guy just didn't know what he was doing, I went to fedex. They recommended I package two tires together and quoted me $258 per package (2 tires each).

In any event, there is a member that is supposed to meet me tomorrow to pick them up but I am still curious what I could have said different to get a more reasonable price. Is it all about having an account? ??

I honestly think that folks like us who just walk into a UPS or FedEx will get mentally high pricing. Others on this forum who can ship wheels/tires for $200 must be piggybacking off some massive corporate accounts.
