I really like this system and am very interested. Especially considering the price. I like that you use the default Nav system of the android side as waze or google maps without even using CarPlay. That's pretty nice. And installation looks like a breeze.

Thank you all for posting.
To anyone who has this installed: I too was disenchanted with the AVIN type units & am now looking at this. Question: 1. Im concerned it has to run through the aux input for audio. What is your audio experience with it? Im assuming I can plug my phone in through Aux & run some music to test how I like that experience? 2. Apps: How do you add additional apps to the screen, ie: Amazon Music or other supported services? You do that on your phone Im guessing? Please confirm & any general updates on how your liking it would be great. Thanks |

Audio experience - to me it sounds better than USB into the center console. A welcome surprise. Apps - you do that on your phone. Download apps that are CarPlay compatible, then go to Settings > General > CarPlay Love it so far. Calls are WAY clearer than the original bluetooth connection. Having (reliable) traffic on the screen is invaluable for me living / commuting across LA. |

As someone who installed it on an E70, I have to say it's a major improvement from the BMW Apps and is helpful to me who uses Pandora, Spotify and Waze heavily.
My complaint on the E70 is that the use of the Aux Connection. I don't know if you have the issue with the F15/NBT, but the E70/CIC interface requires that. I like the fact that it uses the whole screen as well; allowing for an integrated experience.

So I checked out the Unichip solution. To what it seems, this doesn’t work without pluggin in the usb cable to my phone. I searches for wireless carplay for bmw and found these two. Anyone has any experience with these?
