SCR Active DEF Tank Warranty Applicable to 2015 F15?

2015 F15 3.5d, 35k. Had an intermittent CEL that reports P203E (SCR fluid level sensor no echo/erratic data). I've been combing the net looking for confirmation and, if applicable, a copy of SI B01 23 16 that adds the F15 series to the coverage. Several sources claim it does apply, but I can't locate anything concrete.

Today, after $230 to confirm, the code states that it's a failure of the sensor in the active DEF tank (Before visiting the dealer my local repair team for our other cars read the same code for free with the same result, go figure).

Dealer informs that this was covered under a 7yr/70k CA emissions warranty, but is NOT covered under the similar 10/120k SCR warranty described above on the prior E70 gen, and is offering $150 off a $3k repair.

Anyone had any luck with this replacement falling under any other coverages for the '15 F15's?

Car has 35k miles total, basically 3 years old in terms of mileage. Even in this premium ownership realm it's hard to swallow for such a mileage-young vehicle.
