BMW X5 comfort access tailgate
I just bought a 2014 X5 with pretty much every option in it so it has the comfort access and all that and what I'm curious about is if it has the feature to kick your foot under the bumper to open/close the trunk. it has an OEM tow hitch which was put on after it left the factory. so I'm wondering if it has it and the tow hitch might be just blocking it? I've tried to do it several times with no luck. I've tried to get underneath the car and find the sensors but I have no clue what they look like. There is a black rectangle looking box thing that has a wire coming out of it that I believe is the antenna for comfort access? I've tried to Google this with no luck. Does anyone know what the sensors look like? if anyone can find pictures of what they look like( preferably real pictures and not just a diagram) I would very much appreciate it!

First place I would have looked is the owners manual to see if it was even an optional feature. Have you looked there, yet? If not, I would have looked there before getting down on the ground to look under the vehicle.

Well, I personally was in a quite disbelief that it’s not available on F15, so I actually had to retrofit one.

I think you can get it on the X6, but not the X5 - which I always found strange - but not a huge deal for me.

ETK parts catalogue does not show anything like that for your 2018 50i. I believe is a grey retrofit from a F16.
Is there any reference in your owner's manual about this function? Last edited by CatalinP; 03-06-2021 at 01:37 AM.. |

I have 2018 F15 and I don't have it, it must be an option or retrofitted
