Thanks to this thread and the other coding threads, i was able to get the color changed.

Is the layer 3 on the different options 1-9 configurations, the footwell color? I’d really like to turn off the footwell lighting but leave the top and middle level on.

Hello,

Did any of you experience distortion or low light after the software?

* the third one is working right.

BMW x5 F15 Ambiant lighting colour change

hello all

really looking for some help I have just purchased a BMW x5 m50d F15 2014 and wanted to add new ambient lighting colours so I downloaded Bimmercode and purchased an icar pro OBDII.
I followed loads of YouTube videos on doing this and when I go into my bimmercode app there is no option in expert mode under 3070 to change the ambient lighting.
I have contacted bimmercode who say BMW changed it so I must not work anymore but I think this is just a copout reply as some of the videos I've found are as recent as late last year.

can anyone help on how to do this or is there another way I have even tried to find someone to do it for me with no joy.

thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry to drag up a old thread but has anyone had any luck changing the colours with BimmerCode with the new updated software? Had it coded on the the old software but bmw updated it and obviously it got wiped 😩 I’ve gone through this thread but in expert mode I’m only finding options to enter in this box... ‘custom values 0xFF’.

Ya custom value would be a simple RGB to HEX conversion. With new SW you should be able to adjust each ensemble with it's individual R/G/R values as HEX. ie RED= RGB 255 0 0, if you convert 255 0 0 to HEX it's: #FF 00 00 or #FF0000.

Here you go: https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/...gb-to-hex.html

Since I know have the new software could anyone just be kind enough to post a screen shot of the Rgb setting in BimmerCode and what it should look like?? I know how to get into the layers but there after that I just can’t figure it out.

I’m just trying to get purple/violet back and after I’m in the layers I’m just confused.

Follow the link
https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/...gb-to-hex.html

For purple (red and blue makes purple)
you can set 128, 0, 128
Ortomorrow brighter set 255, 0, 255

When I’m in 3076 I go to whatever layer I want to change 1-9 and then when I click on let’s say layer 4 R do I go to custom which is on the bottom, the last option and it gives you some kind of FF number? It wouldn’t let me change that

Did you try under 3070? That's where I see the layers.

It use to be there but after BMW replaced my radio it’s gone.

When I first coded it I did it there.

Aren’t the attachment pics showing layers?

Did you try some value in RGB for one layer ?
I would try to set 255,0,255 on the second one. Then let us know what happens

Edit: you have to put the value in Hex being
Layer_1_R: FF for 255,
Layer_1_G 00 for 0,
Layer_1_B FF for 255
Result should be purple

You need to repeat the above values for layer 2 and 3 of the ensemble 1.

If you're trying to understand the color circle you can use this. 000 would be black which means that color will be off.

Coded myin recently:

Sorry for the delayed response been crazy.

Thank you for the reply but where do you put 255 within the R. The only thing in custom value is 0x00 like the previous attached picture and then the inactive option.

I can get into the layers and R G B with no problem it’s once inside those layers for R G B where I’m lost cause it’s only a few options. And in custom you can’t put 255

Do you have a screen shot of within the layer for R G B what the it looks like?

You do not put 255 but the Hexadecimal équivalent which is FF. Does this help?
