Headlight Courtesy Delay

Well for some reason mine is now not working on my 2016 X5.
I changed the setting from 90 to 120 seconds to see if that would jog something but nothing.
It was working before ie when pulling into the garage after dark or anywhere else.
Headlight switch is set to Auto.
Any ideas?

Since we are not there and can't see what you're doing...can you give us the steps (should only be a few) you're taking to initiate the pathway lighting/welcome light/headlight courtesy delay?

Again, we have no clue how you're attempting to activate the headlights. Are you using your turn signal stalk...or are you pressing the UNLOCK or LOCK button on your remote? There's multiple ways to illuminate the exterior lights to give extended lighting approaching or leaving the vehicle.

Great...but how? Would be good to know in case someone else runs into the same issue.

Guess I was doing it wrong and always pulled into a lit garage.
When I turn off the engine I needed to pull the turn signal stalk toward me and the lights stay on for the length of time I set it for.
Only took me 6 years!

…thanks for the update.

I use both the pathway lighting feature (pulling the turn stalk) as well as the welcome light feature. But in my case, I coded the welcome light feature to illuminate the lights in “darkness only”… and extended the delay to 60 seconds. This give me ample time to throw my bag or briefcase in the trunk or cargo area and get inside when parked in a dark lot or street.

It also gives me a 2nd way to turn on some exterior lighting..especially if I pull into the garage and get involved dinking around and the garage light turns off. I can just press the UNLOCK button to turn on the welcome lights to provide some illumination.
