Seems like BMW is becoming more like domestic brands by having to offer big discounts on their cars just to sell them. If they are already selling at invoice on a car that hasn't hit the showroom yet, what will they be going for 2-4years from now? That tells me they are overpricing them just so they can discount them up front. That plan hasn't worked for other companies in the past, like GM and Chrysler. They don't discount so much on MINI models, I'm surprised they do so much with their bread and butter cars like the 3 series and X5.

Exactly and that is why invoice is actual invoice as the credits you get don't really reflect the dealer selling for under invoice.

its because of huge competition between dealers and they are ready to offer with razor thin margins. so, why sell one car at $5K margin when they can sell 10 at $1000 margin?

Start a 6% below MSRP then subtract manufacturer rebates (USAA, Loyalty, etc.)

Jealous of the ivory. Looks gorgeous but with 2 small kids, I'm afraid of what they'll do to leather let alone almost white leather lol

No big deal
I've had very light interiors in my past 3 cars
2 small kids as well, no issues
Just wipe it down once in a while, it's leather

It's not really the kids you should be concerned about, but your blue jeans
This is the only thing that will stain your seat if you dont wipe it regularly

That's a good price. Mind sharing which dealer you went to? My local dealer is telling me they are offering the car at MSRP since it is a new model. They are B.S.

Hiya, I am getting that price as part of a military discount program. If you are military, I;d be glad to to provide you a contact sales person.

I've heard that about blue jeans too.. How about the indentations from car seats? I turned in an ML350 with some pretty bad dents in their "MB Tex" synthetic seats. We have better seat protectors now than we did then, but I would imagine those things do more damage to leather than to the synthetics, no?

I love the lighter tone seats as well, but I can see it now.....middle of summer and someone gets into the car with brand new jeans, and me blowing my lid! Hahaha

You normally see less of those on lighter colors
For some reason wear is more apparent on darker colors
Could be coincidence, but I've noticed that with my fiends' cars
However, I do have seat protectors under each car seat
Helps with spill/slipping/wear

P.S. I've never had synthetic seats. Can't tell much

Well guys, end up getting my wife the new 2014 Lexus GX460. I was hoping for the 2014 X5 but after test driving the new GX we ended up buying it. We traded our 2003 GX that has served us problem free for 10 yrs.

I decided to keep the old 2008 X5 until at least after my ED delivery next summer.
