Jez 7 months ~28 weeks from order to delivery.
Was that to UK specification delivered to UK?
My ~16 weeks and discount doesn't look to bad now.

Here is the other side of the story, went to a dealer today who had a 40D M Sport (what I was looking for) allocated to build in week 26 (23 June), they only have to the end of next week to change the spec, paid deposit to secure the car, delivery is week 34 (18 Aug), they showed me the allocation on their system so no reason to doubt them, I actually told them to slow down as I want a 64 plate, i.e September, means 10 weeks from deposit to delivery -

My X5 was, as of the 13th, at status 9000 and BMW UK have pulled the delivery date forwards by four weeks from WK30 to WK26. I'm not sure if that's realistic, even if it gets on the Michigan Highway leaving Charleston today it's not going to be at Southampton for 14 days so I guess WK28 is far more realistic.

Still, it's an improvement on the original estimate of WK31.

Just ordering a new Mini Cooper S for my wife so it'll all start again soon

It will be pretty boring though since there's no overseas shipping (built in Oxford I think) We're hoping to convert our agreed 3-door spec into one of the first of new 5-door versions - if we can get a pre-allocated build slot and have delivery at launch in October.

We were going to buy a Countryman JCW though having driven the new 2.0 turbo Cooper S there was no comparison, the new car is miles better!

K Lines 'Michigan Highway' has departed Charleston on-time heading for Zeebrugge so the question is, are our X5's on-board or are they waiting for the next ship? I'm finding it hard believe that they could have turned them around so quickly though since my expected delivery date has improved by 5 weeks something must be happening!

I'll call the UK help line later today to check if my expected delivery date is still the same.

Placed order with dealer on March 24. Dealer didn't have allocation spot until May 5. Production completed on June 5, took delivery on June 12, vehicle returned to dealer the next day because rear view camera wasn't included in order. Dealer offered $500 compensation or a new build. I chose to build a new one but am waiting to hear if they'll be able to trade for a new allocation spot. Switching dealers if they can't deliver in 4-6 wks.

Right-hand drive specification but delivered to the UK through diplomatic sales. Fortunately I am not in a hurry but such a long wait is dangerous - I have already added a few more options and it has only been a month since I placed the order I don't want to read the 40d versus 30d thread (having ordered a 30d!)....

Originally schedule for production in week 29 (week after the 4th, IIRC).

Called today, vehicle is in production, schedule completion date of June 28th.

That's pretty darn good if you ask me!

Just heard from the shipping agent at Southampton docks that my car is on K Lines 'Georgia Highway'. BMW could not / would not tell me which vessel my car was being shipped on so had to track it down myself. This means my car will be offloaded on the 5th July and hopefully delivered during the following week. (This is three weeks earlier than originally expected - good news for those of you in the UK waiting for your X5's)
I also found out that my X5 will not go to the VDC at Thorne (Yorks) it will be delivered direct to my dealer who does all of the prep / pdi etc.

If you're lucky enough to be shipped by W&W their track n trace is excellent. If not, you need to find the actual shipping companies office at the port of reception or their agent and talk real nice to them and hope they'll give you the information you need! (that's what i had to do to track mine)

My UK dealer tells me that my car is showing as "at departing plant".

Ive checked the VINs around the same and ones produced after mine are already shipping.

I assume this means that mine is awaiting a ship to the UK?

What was your production date?

Mine was 12/6/2014 and is confirmed as on a ship half was across the Atlantic.
