Brake rotor groove

Car just turned over 1000km today and I discovered this groove on the driver side rear brake rotor. The groove is pretty deep as I can feel it with my finger running over the surface. [IMG][/IMG]

Does it brake normally? Any noise? Warranty issue if there is any issues. Inconvenient but thankfully it's covered.

Did hear some brake noise. That's how I discovered the groove.

probably got a piece of rock stuck in between the pad and rotor thus making the noise and gouging a groove into the rotor

If the sound continues, and/or the groove gets worse...have them checked out. If you're wrench savvy, pull the wheel and caliper and inspect the pads. It could be an imperfection in the surface of the pad. Either way, you're under warranty...most would say take it to the dealer and let them figure it out.
