adaptive M suspension

I was trying to figure out what changes come with the adaptive M suspension and whether it is worth getting. Many have posted that it is absolutely worth it, but I can't tell what changes happen up front. I see there is an air suspension in the rear. But for the front, still the same suspension as stock? Or do the dampers adjust all around?

Adaptive M has DDC = Dynamic Damper Control

Lots of info here for you to read.

If you are getting the Msport line, then it is a no brainer to get this option at $950. I would never ride on stock suspensions on any BMW.

I ended up getting the M adaptive based on all the positive post here. Worth every penny! I came from a F10 535I with standard suspension and my X5 in sport mode handles so much better compared to the F10.

Thanks. I am narrowing down my search to include vehicles only with it.

Thanks for the links. I read the one guy who said not to get it for fear of expensive costs if it breaks. I don't keep cars out of warranty (I usually get extended warranties), as long as it's covered by an extended warranty, I think it is worth it

For what's it worth, I had an E70 with DHP and now have an X5 with stock suspension. They both ride amazingly well. My father's past two X5s have had M Sport suspension, and for the love of me, I cannot tell the difference.

The difference is adaptive M is adjustable. Comfort mode will be equivalent to stock suspension, sport modes stiffen the shocks and also the steering. It's the best of both worlds, smooth comfy ride when the wife and kids are riding with you, firm and sporty when you want to have some fun.

DHP includes the adaptive shock dampers so it will have same adjustments and ride feel as adaptive M suspension, except when cornering when the torque vectoring and active torsion bars kick in.

Adaptive M suspension and Dynamic Damper Control (DDC) on non-M sport vehicles are essentially the same thing, adjustable shocks.

I personally really like the adjustments and wouldn't get an X5 without it. DHP was a bit too rich for me so I passed on that option.
