M PERFORMANCE MUFFLER for X5 35i 2016 - owners please advise

I have a fully loaded X6 35i 2016 m-sport

I have had the car for a few years now and was thinking about adding the M performance exhaust for a little bit more M-sport feel.

This is the price I am quoted from my local Canadian dealership in Ontario:

ABOUR RATE IS $222.OO PLUS TAX

PARTS $1748.85 PLUS TAX

Is this a decent price? I understand I need to buy the muffler and tips even though I have the m-sport tips.

also, is the upgrade worth it?

IMO, if you want more of a performance feel, I’d go with the MPPK (if you don’t already have it) versus the MPE.
Yes, you need to buy the tips even though you have the M-Sport exhaust.
I have the MPPK with the MPE and love the combo!

Nice
I prefer sound over performance since I mainly do city driving as opposed to highway

Well, I don’t know how the MPE sounds without the MPPK but I can say the sound with them together is a huge improvement over stock, huge. I imagine the MPE alone would still provide a nice upgrade in sound. Go for it

I personally can’t comment on that as I purchased mine and installed in Germany. I’m sure someone will chime in soon.

The MPE and MPPK combo is my favorite mod combo, makes the drive a lot more exciting.

Prices I paid were $1,500 inc tax at my local dealership and $180 for install at an outside shop.

I drove an X5 at the dealership a couple of weeks ago that had the MPE and hardly noticed a difference. Maybe it was because it didn’t have the MPPK? I was really wanting the exhaust until that day. Now I’m undecided.

the price seems like dealer standard price. there are couple vendors here selling it for much cheaper or eBay(this one is sold by BMW dealer) PM me, and i can get you the link.

I got MPPK when i got my x5 and wanted the MPE and now just waiting for winter to end and will be getting it put on around March/April. Will probably buy from the vendors here since its few hundred cheaper but again USD vs Canadian Dollar(this might be little disadvantage to you).

It was a 35i, non m sport, but had the M sport wheels (599?) and the new aero kit. My buddy is the service manager and told me to come check it out. I let it warm up, drove it down the road a while, revved it, etc... My wife said, “yea, get the exhaust if you want it”....

That’s when I knew it wasn’t loud enough 😂
