First of all, our consumption has gone back to somewhat normal. Our last tank was avrg of 29.2mpg per computer, but 28 mpg by my own calculation. The first tank was only 25 mpg, but I was driving WOT to test the Maxchip.
Anyways, I'm trying to convince my wife to let me order the Racechip pro2 since they are the comparable price to Maxchip pro. One annoyance is that I opened the box and they are NO DIALS to adjust! My Maxchip pro for my 335 has tunning dials and has been nice to dial up during the summer time and dial down during winter. I email their customer service to find out why and if their product line changed for the F15.
Well, I'm writing from my phone, so that's enough for now...here are two shots...one with the max HP and one with max torque.
I'm assuming you have the 30d? I couldn't find anything for the spec guide that is as accurate as this, but this helps put in all the relevant info into DashCommand if you haven't done so already: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...fications.aspx

I have U.S. version, so technically is the X5 xDrive 35d. Thanks for the link and I will check it out after dinner...I did use the 3.0 liter engine size and diesel. The rest I didn't get a chance to fill in. This was a shot I took while getting on the highway in my way to work this morning. anyways, I can't wait until tomorrow morning to do more runs!

Update the table in Post #1 to include additional chips, and snapshot of BMW's M Performance Power Kit for 25d/30d/35d.

Many thanks to MattBianco for this great thread. I think this is probably a stupid question but here goes! For 30d/35d owners the M Performance Power Kit includes a "more powerful charge air cooler" which seems to be the only piece of hardware. I was wondering if anyone knows if this air cooler is really needed, or just there to make people feel better about paying so much for such a modest power improvement? Is it standard on the 40d and 50d models? Thanks in advance for any comments.

Selfishly, I looked at diesel chips only, compiling the data by manually navigating the web pages of all the companies who offered a product+specs+price. It was a very time consuming undertaking.

What I can tell you is that nearly all of the manufacturers listed also offer a gas-engine chip. You might want to look the ones that intrigue you the most on the diesel spreadsheet, and then check the makers equivalent gas engine chip. I wish I had the time to cover 35i and 50i, but I cannot.

Comepletely understandable to be selfish on this, Matt. Thanks for what you've done, so far. Maybe I'll try to put together a gas version some rainy day.

RaceChip Ultimate is the most popular in the 35d community and it is available in the US.
The other one is JBD, which is not as popular.
I do have the RaceChip Ultimate in stock ready to ship and not stocking the JBD anymore due to its low on demand.

How much for the Racechip? Is it plug & play? And does it leave any software artifacts that BMW might find?

Interesting, I did not know Dinan has released their own tuner for Diesel engine! Has anyone tried this yet ? I've been using my Racechip Ultimate for over a year now. It's worked out great so far. I keep it at the stock setting of E0 and the performance is nice and smooth. I have not pushed it too far.

I just noticed that Racechip now also has a Racechip connect version that has bluetooth connection to allow you to change settings on the fly. This seems convenient, although the downside is you can't fine tune the settings like you could with the other versions. I'm fine with that, as long as the settings are well tested. Their version is almost twice the price of the similarly functioned Dinan unit. Although the Racechip has slightly higher performance gain.
I haven't seen the Dinan unit in person, but the Racechip is a well built unit. Not sure how durable the Dinan unit is.

I ended up with getting Racechip Pro , huge improvement in throttle response so far.
Currently running on F3 and pretty impressed

Supposedly.
But I only sell the RaceChip Ultimate.
Supposedly you can reflash it and get the proper cable if you change to another vehicle that RaceChip support.

Great list!

it seems to me that the racechip ultimate is still the way to go. The maxchip is impressive as well, but I would be more comfortable with the tried and true.

reliability

hi guys!

new and first post!

how reliable is the 35d after these plug in chips?

mines currently a 2014 w/ 43k miles (70k km) and wouldn't mind getting some more power and response. but i also drive alot for work and can put on anywhere from 40-50k km / 25-30k miles a year. still got factory wty and might get extend for 2 years after just because i might be racking up the miles

thanks for input
btw great breakdown on all the chips!
