Weather & Clock Widgets are No Shows

For the whole day yesterday, the weather and clock widgets were not appearing on my split screen. I've had temporary "no shows" in the past but never an all day situation. I re-started the car several times during the day and these did not reset the connection.

Any thoughts on what causes this lapse in service and how to correct it?

A year or so ago we've experienced multiple weeks of outages...

Oh wow, didn't realize this was a regular occurrence! I'm only 4 months in
Is it due to the BMW network?

It happens to me since the oil change back from the dealer. (No network connection).

Had this a few days ago, BMW Assist said they were having a nationwide outage... So it is sporadic...

^^ Haha. Mine has been good, but my free three-years is up next month. For $199, I'm not going to bother renewing.

had this happen on a 2017. week and a half out without service. dealer stated it was happening to a few vehicles and no fix at that time (about two back) and eventually once the iDrive resets itself it should come back.

Now mine has the same issue. It shut down and its been a week since. Is there a way to reboot the 3g /4g system onboard?

If I remember correctly the iDrive reset is completely but pressing the volume/power knob down and holding it until the system reboots.

You have to pay for the service once it expires.
