They did on non-m sport. 35i had round tailpipe finishers.

Not listed on ordering guide.

For the G-5-series, the 30e is the cheapest (or on par with the 530 gasser)
Batteries/electric engines are expensive. It is pretty common for hybrid to be more expensive. But, pricing happens to also be ordered by HP:
  • G30 5-series
    • 530e & 530i = 252 HP
    • 540i = 340 HP
  • F15 X5
    • sdrive = 300 HP
    • x35i = 306 HP
    • 40e = 313 HP
    • x50i = 450 HP

Looks like I'll have to keep the car for a few more months! My current lease ends in June 18, will hold off to get the new body if it's only 3 months away.

Reliability isn't really a concern anymore with 1st year new body styles IMO. It definitely was back in the 90s and early 2000s, but technology/testing has gotten better. You really can't be selling $75k SUVs and have 1/5 of your production years be "glitchy."

Try telling that to V8 F010 owner's. If you tend to keep switching out leases, then not a major concern. But, also do not want cars frequently in the shop.

With 2TB as standard, does this mean we will get Sport+ option? Also is it going to be a different shifter? I always wished BMW made a better looking shifter.

I wouldn't count on that. It's a gamble, no matter how much it costs.

New tailpipes are nice to see, I guess 50i and M Sport owners will have a grudge now.
I wish we had option of having amber or red rear turn signals in this last build year.

Also I was expecting them to make the LEDs standard, good to see they remain optional, keeps the base MSRP low. Not sure if they fixed those beams, but I should have listened to most people and stayed with standard headlamps instead of paying so much for LEDs. They illuminate better for sure, but for the money I'd expect them to have at least proper spread with a better housing, something that doesn't show every single dirt, or didn't scratch so easily. The reflection/glare on those LED lens is disgusting no matter how clean you keep your headlights.

Can't believe BMW still wants people to pay for Premium package just for the keyless entry. At least add something visual to make it more appealing. I can see it being part of Executive Package, for example, but come on..

Just tried to order a X5 35D, and my salesman informed me that Spartanburg is shutting down for July production. So does that mean my order will be a 2018 or 2017 when they kick back up in August?

Production was originally slotted through 1/17-8/17.

Not sure what that means in terms of production year. Usually, many chassis were traditionally July switchover, but some (eg, 6-series start in March).

I have seen some other chassis MY'18 production schedules, but not specifically for the F015.

When do you think they'll update the online build webpage?

I am confused now. I have 50i and trapezoid tailpipe, but I don't have M-Sport. I think all 50i have trapezoid tailpipes no?

You are correct on the 50. The 35 gets round pipes for models without m sport.
