Unlock Satellite Radio

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well.

Currently in a 2017 X5 loaner that doesn’t have satellite radio, but going on a road trip tomorrow and I’d like to know if any way to ‘unlock’ such capability.

Not simply a matter of adding a subscription, but the ‘band’ under media; would like to know if the car is equipped with same, but same Is somehow ‘masked’.

do you have a xm subscription? use the xm app on your phone and bluetooth to car. or there are plenty of other free music apps.

LOL, what do you think? Although, if you have unlimited data, it should be irrelevant.

Take it the question was whether the phone streamed the signal straight from the satellite or something.
Smartphones are not there yet.

SiriusXm requires FSC code + subscription. You can decode VIN to check for SAT prep.
