What to expect BMW Car Control School Spartanburg
I am not interested in paying $1.5K for the M school but am not certain of the value of the $300 one-day Car Control School in Spartanburg.
The BMW web shows an X5 and a 3 series so do I get to select an X5? The BMW web only shows as far as September but I need to book for December so does that mean I must wait until June 1 before booking a place in the school? When it says that one can tour the BMW plant, do they mean the same X3/X4 plant that I toured last month in Spartanburg? It would be helpful to hear evaluations from those who have gone through this or have heard reviews from friends.

I did the Performance delivery for my X5 at the end of January. Since I was buying an X5 they had me drive one of their X5. We were told that the purpose of the school was to demonstrate to us the capabilities of the vehicle under various conditions on and off road. I don't think it would make too much difference if you drove an X3 or and X5 in the class. The control and handling are similar - of course you prefer to drive what you own /buy.
I saw X3 and X4 production on the factory tour. X5 is built there in a different area. The overall experience was GREAT! I plan to return next year for a full day school |
