What's up with Crash Test Scores?
IIHS and NHTSA show incomplete or 'not rated' scoring.
On the NHTSA site the X5 shows limited data because not all tests were administered. The X3 and X1 have a bit more data. The X1 does have some embarrassing results in the small overlap. On IIHS the 2013 X5 has concerning results in head-on crash scores. But nothing tested for 2014. The MDX and ML have stellar results in every category. What's up with the X5? I'm beginning to wonder if there is something BMW doesn't want us to know. Can BMW pick a la carte the tests that they want to be rated? It really seems odd for IIHS t have incomplete crash test data. |
