How do fog lights help with night vision? Or are you suggesting they are leaving the cutouts for the fog lights there in case someone purchases a night vision package that will have the units installed in the fog light holes, which either way is a terrible reason to have fog lights there since night vision modules can be installed behind the front grille like most cars that have it/.

The night vision thing in iDrive is available, together with selected HUD popup warnings, but the cool "Dynamic Light Spot" feature isn't. My guess is that it's the same DOT madness that blocks the excellent adaptive LED feature that "wraps" the high beam around oncoming traffic so it isn't blinded.
