That's been my experience with 20" DWSs as well. Incredible in the snow.

My BAD. Not sure why I couldn't find it in the previous two searches this evening after you told so. But I do find it now... I guess my dirty F15 makes me mad and not focused.

Thanks.

Finally arrived. 20" Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires (275/40-18 all around, mounted on 20x9.5 Avarus AV10 wheels ($189 per!).

So far so good and handles the frozen stuff as good as the Cayenne S I had with the same tires.

Am I confused again? I thought M pkg doesn't have the silver matte kidney grille...

I actually like those wheels a lot, even without any "for a winter set" qualifier. Simple design but looks great on the F15.

Typo for me. They are 20" tires. So far they are gripping well. Three more storms this and next week. Sheesh.

Blizzak LM series are better, but the Pirelli all seasons are acceptable. They're not much different than the Blizzak LM performance winter tires I have on my E46.
I drove the LM in some major snow storms. I tries to get stuck in my neighborhood by coming to a stop in very deep snow. Not even close. I wonder how much better going down 2 or 3 speed ratings would be as softer rubber = more grip. Softer rubber on such a heavy performance SAV made me a bit concerned that the squirly sidewall feeling would irritate me on the dry.

The LM treads are somewhat squishy to the touch while the sidewalls are fairly firm. Interesting tire as it tries to do it all.

Got four of the 469M front wheels (I think they're one of the most beautiful wheels ever) and mounted them with 275/40-20 Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires, with 15mm spacers on the rear. Looks fabulous...but not much snow yet in Indiana.

God bless,
Tom

Got 2-4 fresh snow this morning. My F15 is doing ok with the original 19' Goodyear tires, but I do hope the tires can do better. I guess BMW will never be able to find the tires which can satisfy majority of us, IMO.

We also had about 5" fresh snow this morning and I had no problems with the OEM 19" all season Pirellis

some all season tires have better traction in any weather including snow..for example Cint P7 have good ratings. Unlike the eagle LS2, that came in my '15 x3 msport. My rear was sliding this morning. smh

We don't have much snow like areas in NE or Canada. I hope my F15 can come with something better since we all know the wide tires do worse in snow than tall and narrow tires. Sometimes I just feel this Eagle LS2 doesn't fit well with F15 in the slushy and muggy roads.

I'm just lazy to put on the winter tires annually.

Pirelli Scorpions on stock 20s, I highly recommend this setup!

I was going to get all weather tires but since I was going to go through the trouble of changing tires every winter, I would rather buy something that is meant for winter. Really like the fact that they fit stock M wheels, the car still looks good and I saved on buying new wheels. To be honest, they are also pretty good in dry conditions, I haven't noticed a significant drop in performance.

Mine is working great so far. Kept the 20's with the staggered set up on Pirelli Scorpions and surprisingly only positive feedback so far.

During the new snow today, about 2", the rear wheels kind of lost traction and slid when I made the slow left turn at approximately 15 MPH. I guess this most likely was caused by low friction surfaces over snow. No big deal.

With the 19" OEM tires, I found this car can maneuver into any directions effortlessly so far, and the car actually handles pretty well in most of road conditions.

Once getting familiar with this car, I'm getting more and more confidence on this car... this is good.
