I had seen one painted before and it looks nice - good idea just a bit ostentatious for me. also the work involved to do properly for cost, isn't a good value prop for me.

definitely would not have done if not possible to remove. spraying inside a car would have been crazy

yes, it unclips and removes very easily. just take a nail carefully under the edge and pull up gently around the perimeter and it removes nicely.

so the removal I documented in my reply above, sir. painting is all in preparation, sanding, cleaning, sanding, finer and finer as you go to a perfectly smooth surface, then prime and paint and clear.

Thankfully I emailed the list and they can just click link to order. Hoping I score everything on my list - if not will order after xmas. Do you feel any noticeable HP/power gains? They claim +10HP on Burger's website. I seriously doubt the dealer would give me any grief if I left on to bring in for service? I used to always disconnect my RC Ultimate on my 14 35d, but i dont feel like taking the intake off every time for service (which is why I didn't do a RC on my 35i...yet).
the sound is more noticeable. not Subaru BOV loud but intake and BPV recirculating, yes. outside, I don't know. I'm always driving my x5.

that's awesome you have willing family able to buy BMW parts! awesome Christmas at your house!

no, I do not feel any noticeable hp/power gains.

I don't know your dealer or your relationship. it's not usually a problem until it is, if you understand. if you don't spend a lot of time at the dealer (hopefully you don't) then you may need to swap once or twice a year. it's a five minute swap, maybe ten minutes, so not a hassle at all if you want to be cautious and remove before a visit.

swapped the roof rails from the satin silver to the gloss black. it was a purely aesthetic choice. all the other parts of the vehicle are gloss black and the theme is gloss black and carbon fiber which is a great contrast to the AW exterior.

these roof rails being such a prominent large fixture in the exterior of the vehicle makes these such a huge value. I got the gloss black rails new in box at less than half best retail price online with some digging through classifieds so it made the decision easy. swapped them and what a difference!

the swap does mean dropping the headliner. this means the a, b, c, d pillars, grab handles, visors, mounted controls up front, microphones, etc need to be out to access bolts to roof rails. remove bolts, the rails come out, put in new black ones, and reverse. BMW makes it easy with minimal effort required but does take some time to avoid damaging pillars, etc.

Those 612s Do you have shots from behind at an angle? And have you thought about turning them into gloss black?

I'll take some for you, I think I know what you mean stay tuned.

I really don't like the 612M wheels in gloss black. the beautiful intricacies of this wheel by the contrast of tones of gray and black are much to nice to be veiled or murdered out. they stand out beautifully as they are.

Much Better

Those gloss black rails are a definite go. They look so much better than the other ones. Keep modding my friend. Nice thread

received my replacement carbon fiber fender trims by autotecknic from ben r33_RGSport at an awesome price. install on the f15 is easy as can be as there is no removal of the OEM involved. so, just installation with double sided tape and done!

this thing is nearly aesthetically complete on the exterior

although do still need to figure out a winter wheel/tire combo as i'm running on MPSS on the 612Ms.

BEFORE: sorry sun was intense in the photo

This has got to be one of the best mod threads on this entire forum. I really appreciate that you took time to take so many pictures of every mod. Makes it a lot easier for noobs like me.

BTW, did you ever have to remove the window trims at all during your window nightmare? Trying to get mine painted gloss black (I have a non M Sport) but I think the front window trims may be a bit difficult for a non seasoned modder like myself.
