For anyone interested, I'm selling my BMW Winter Wheel & Tire Set for the X5 M. I'm including with the sale the BMW all-weather mats (front and rear), and heavy rubber all-weather trunk liner, as well as my two alcantara/carbon fiber M Performance Key Covers. Price is $2800 for everything. For local pick up only, so be within driving distance of mid-Cape Cod.
The tires have ~3000 miles on them, and are in perfect condition, along with the rims. They have been safely stored in my climate controlled basement since taking them off mid-March. They include the BMW tire pressure sensors. The mats look virtually new, as do the key covers. If anyone is interested, I'll also throw in a covercraft front windshield sunscreen I had made for the X5 M. It's in decent condition, and comes with it's own case. I found it useful in protecting the leather dashboard. |

Sorry to hear you don't have the X5 M anymore. Have fun with the M4!

I opted for the competition package, too, which makes the M4 drive so very much better than the non-comp pack version of the car. Overall, I don't have any complaints about going to the M4 vs. X5 M. Wait, there is one, when you're coming up on someone at a high rate of speed, they'd get out of your way in the X5 M, with the M4 they stay right in your way :-( |

In related news, I had a set of DWS06's installed on my OE 20". Ride quality is marginally improved and I haven't experienced a noticeable loss in performance (breaking, cornering, steering response, etc.). I know Pirelli's run narrow, but was surprised that the Conti 315s looked about as wide as the P-Zero 325s. I'll report back when I encounter sub-zero temperatures/frozen precipitation. Take a look below (excuse the brake dust): As an aside, I would highly recommend the OE winter set, which I ran last year, if you daily your X5M or regularly find yourself in cold weather. My use of the X5M is largely limited to travel on highways, at times of my choosing. While the OE winter set was incredibly capable, I too often found myself compromised. Where I am in Rhode Island, the 'edge' seasons are large; for a good bit of October/November/March/April it can be 60-70 degrees during the day and as low/below 30 degrees at night. On those days, neither OE Summer or Winter set are completely appropriate. On the Summer set, traction became limited in cold temperatures; on the Winter set, braking distance and wear become a concern at the higher temperatures. For my use, the DWS06 seemed like a good compromise. Better in colder temperatures than the P-Zeros, better in warm(er) temperatures than the Scorpions and best-in-class (admittedly, low bar) traction in snow/ice. Ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow RFT in OEM size (285/35/21 & 325/30/21) back in June only to find out that Pirelli isn't producing any this year. Great way to find out two days before my appointment.
Tirerack gives an ETA of Dec 31 2016 which is also BS. Thanks Pirelli you fuckers. |

Slightly off topic - It's a sad day, I got my first freeze warning chime this morning. I don't want to take off my big girl wheels yet. Not worried about snow yet but I got caught running summer tires way too far into the season last year. The cold temps don't play nice with handling and stopping power. I was hoping to at least make it to Dec 1. Maybe Mother Nature will be nice and give us a few more weeks of warmer weather.
I need to find an anchor customer in Florida so I can open a southern division and not worry about this BS.... Carry on. |

I cut and pasted this post that I made in another thread: __________________________________________________ ___________ We ordered a winter set up from PMC tire in Quebec - total, including mounting/balancing and shipping to Saskatchewan, was CDN$2650! We got 20" Replika R184 wheels (look identical to the OEM BMW wheels - also available in gloss black): https://pmctire.com/en/replika-wheel...-74-1-bmw.tire And we used Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow: https://pmctire.com/en/pirelli-scorp...0-106v-xl.tire (I believe that the price of these has come up marginally since we ordered about a month ago, so the entire package price would be CDN$2790 - still a massive savings over the BMW setup). The wheels are 20", with an offset of +40. They look a bit tucked in at the back, but they are fine - it's winter, after all. The nice thing is, with the square set up, we can rotate through all four corners. Good luck! PMC's service is amazing. Their shipping rates are seriously unbelievably low ($40 for the full tire/wheel set from Quebec to Saskatchewan!!)(They have shipped four tires for $14 for my Lambo in the recent past - how do they DO this???) Good luck. I know some people will prefer the "security" of going OEM, but considering we won't likely be keeping this X6M for longer than a couple of years, we are comfortable with the replica wheels. The rubber is the main thing. __________________________________________________ ___________ Hope this helps! PMC have been amazing, always. Super fast shipping, and their pricing is killer! We didn't go with RFT, because I hate them
