Is the noise only happens when turning either left or right? Or does it happen going straight too?

You can hear it when going straight, but it's a bit louder when turning.

4600 miles and nothing.
Mine has a different sound coming from the front driver side wheel area where right before the car slows to a full stop under 5mph it would make a very subtle pop sound only audiable with the radio off. Very faint and repeatable. |

I urge you to find my post on the wheel hub replacement from earlier in this thread. The SB # for that fix is listed there; useful info in the event the fix they applied for you doesn't take.

I can not believe this is still an issue for BMW. Now the 2017's are clicking. It's a simple hub with a simple Timken bearing. Geez, oversize it and fix it forever. No more bandaids.

Had the issue since 5,000KM (11,000 km now). Been to the dealership 3 times trying to fix it.
1- Suspension alignment and refitting. Didn't fix anything 2- Replaced both front wheel bearings. Didn't fix anything 3- installed spacers and lubrication "Per BMW Germany guidelines". Didn't fix anything I am thinking of telling them buy the car back or something because this is ridiculous. I also have a Cayenne GTS (70k KM) it has a very minor clicking noise issue, can only hear it in underground parking lots, the X5M clicks so loud everyone turns around to look at what's mimicking the LOST smoke monster sounds :/ |

I had my fixed, a week later the clicking came back on turns but not as bad as before the fix. I was going to take it back but the clicking stopped when I changed my stock 21" rims for 20" winter rims today. Not sure why but the clicking has stopped for now.

After 4th "fix", the clicking came back. The dealer gave up, they told me BMW had know this issue and was working on the permanent solution. I hope they could work it out before mid next year when I can order new S7. Then I can say bye to BMW permanently.

Clicking is back and louder than ever after both fixes.
Embarrassing to say the least, especially when combined with extremely loud squeaking brakes. |

I can tell you from experience, GET AN ATTORNEY!!!!!! I made the mistake of trying to "work with BMW." I will NEVER again approach a car company without an attorney again. Nor will I, after my experience the past months, EVER own a BMW again so long as I live!!!! I'm done with them. I worked with attorneys as a paralegal through college, and I thought I saw the worst of the worst until I dealt with BMW. I have never, in my entire life, seen a group of people who are evil, so willing to show they are evil. It was astounding. Do yourself a favor, and hire more than one attorney, and then confront them. They are the worst of the worst. If you have the privilege of speaking with Donna Russo, record the conversation, she will try, harder than most, to play with your mind. You'll want it on record.

Get an attorney to fight them. Do NOT try to work with them. They are truly not good people. Three months of dealing with them, and non-disclosure agreements later, I can say they are truly the sludge of the earth. Protect yourself. The small fee you'd pay to attorney is little compared to the crap you'll get from Corporate BMW if you try to deal with them on your own.

But I'm not surprised that getting an attorney causes you to get bad treatment. You've essentially given up on any form of nicety at that point, so why should they bother treating you with the kid gloves? Sorry you had such huge problems.

Because of the non-disclosure agreement, all I'm allowed to say about the end result, was that we reached an amicable result for all parties involved. Last edited by UrbanExtant; 11-07-2016 at 07:34 PM.. |

I assume there is no permanent fix for this yet and it still exists on the latest builds? I am in the market for a new car and was considering an X6M, but do not want to deal with this noise and issue.
