Adblue on M50d

Hi all, I've seen a few posts where people have had to too up ad blue in their diesel cars. Can someone tell me if I'm supposed to keep an eye on the ad blue on my uk M50d? Thanks people👍

Hi Parm - have you checked your 'vehicle settings' on iDrive..it tells you there along with Oil, TPS.
It says how many miles you have until empty and litres remaining.

As well as being able to check it through iDrive, I believ there are plenty of warnings that go off when it gets to 1000 miles left before empty, then at 500 miles etc.

From reading the manual, if it is left to get completely empty the engine will continue to run but if stopped will not restart until refilled.

You get 9000 or so miles per fill so it isn't something to get neurotic about but don't let it get completely empty either.

Don't pay BMW prices though, they're a complete rip off. I get mine in 10 litre cans from Shell petrol stations for £13 or £14, if you get it from truck stop pumps it works out at about 60p/litre.

Be careful buying from Ebay, most sellers are probably okay but it is very hard to verify that you have purchased what you think you have purchased. I have heard stories of rogue sellers selling plain water as Adblue.

Wondering if the engine would not restart if stopped by the start/stop function in the middle of the intersection when you waited to turn left (UK: right).
