Very true. When my wife drives our cars it is usually some dorks trying to flirt or race... sometime both. she ignores them as well or so she claims.

So she claims . It depends on my mood and traffic conditions. Im sure it’s the same with your wife. It amazes me how many men/guys/boys assume I’m driving my husband’s car. Then I get what does a girl do with all that power and an eye roll. Usually in a parking lot. When I start talking and it becomes clear I know more about cars than they do ....priceless.

hahaha... well done. my wife's vehicle of choice is the RRSC. conservative and nobody really expects it to boogy since it's a land yacht so these "boyracers" never bother her in it.

Technically its not a V8 - its an eight cylinder

Which engine are you referring to?
N63 and S63 are both V8.

How’s that possible? The stock 50i runs 0-60 in 4.3 sec and 0-100 in 10.8 sec, while the M does it in 3.9 and 9.2sec...

I thought with more than 150hp+ difference, the M should run way more faster than that....

Do a search on the actual rwhp dyno sheets. It’s been measured many times. Dinan website has both dynos of both engines. Same dyno.

There is a very simple way to stop the boy racers from bothering you. Simply do what I did debadge, or do you really want the attention of driving an X5M. I had an X5M driver pull up to me the other day in New Rochelle and this is what he said. "You should of gotten one of these man."

OMG, that’s 200hp difference....But with only 0.6sec less 1/4mile time, maybe because too much weight I guess ??

Which is pretty sad because anyone who knows will see it's the M regardless of the badges.

I wouldn't have a problem being stealth, it's actually appealing but I lease and don't want to be bothered taking off the badges and putting them back on for lease return.

i remove the badges from all my vehicles but most "gearheads" know what a car is without the badges also can't remove the side vent badge or grill badge on the X5M.

Seriously, what kind of an A-hole says something like that and secondly what kind of M owner can't identify another M even if it's debadged?

You should have played along and said all You could afford was the 35i, but that you could probably still stay with him because of your superior driving skills. Then stick with him for a bit and give him a wave :

Reminded me a story with diesel BMW back in old days when 99% of people didn't know BMW made diesels. 2 truck drivers saw a BMW owner putting a diesel fuel in his car (at diesel gas station where truck drivers fuel up), they thought he was an idiot, they decided to not prevent it and let him fuel up and stall or break his engine - so they basically decided to have a good show and laugh at BMW owner. So BMW owner saw them giggling in their cars and played along. He started his car up, drove 10 ft and turned it off - made it look like it's stalled. Truck drivers started laughing loudly at this point, getting comfortable for the "show". So next BMW owner gets out of car walks to gas cap/ fuel door - opens it and pretends he is taking a piss into the tank. He finishes his job, closes the fuel cap, goes back to car. Starts engine and drives off... he saw their eyes getting bigger and bigger and their jaws dropping in utter surprise and shock
