New M to Stable
Hey guys,
Posting this in excitement as I just completed all ppwk to take delivery of an F85 X5M this coming Tuesday. They are transporting the car from a dealership about 3 hours away. My current daily is a 2015 F10 M5 in Singapore Grey over Silverstone. I will be keeping the M5 as a grocery getter and the occasional weekend driver. My last 3 cars have been 2014 335i, 2015 M3, F10 M5 as current now F85 X5M. The F85 I picked up is as follows: Black Sapphire Metallic Mugello Red Full Merino Interior Executive Pack Drivers Assistance + Bang & Olufsen 21” Black Wheels (612M?) M Driver’s Package (?? - most pointless $2,500 package ever) Parking Assist Apple Car Play Sticker was $117,995, which I think is every option short of night vision (and individual). Talked dealership down to $106.5k + tax which I was pleased with even though a 17. I already received the blackout package from IND - ordered the kidney grilles in gloss black, side vents in gloss black, reflector delete in BSM and the gloss black X5M badge for back of car. Going to have the dealership install all parts upon delivery - I watched the tutorials and something about ripping tabs with less than 5 miles on the car didn’t settle well with me. I’m considering wrapping the car Matte Black, but I’m not sure yet. What else can y’all think of that’s stealthy? I don’t really want to go a full exhaust route because it’s a lease, but that’s not out of the cards. Car will be going straight to window tint shop to tint match the front windows. Looking forward to joining this part of the community! |

Hey guys
I'm new to the forums as a member tho I've always had the Bimmerpost app. But I'm so happy for my new ride I wanted to show it off. My dealer told me this was a special/limited edition and that as of now there was only 50 in the United States. Super excited - got call from dealership today that the car will be loaded on their transport tomorrow morning and be local by lunch.
I am dropping off my IND parts in the morning so they can install during their pre delivery detail, etc.. They are doing it for no charge which is pretty cool. Picking up at 3PM EST tomorrow and should be all blacked out with Black Kindeys, Side vents, reflector delete and black X5M badge (rear). I have a 8am window tint appointment on Wednesday to get the front two windows done and then we should be ready to roll! |

Well, today was the day. I got a call this morning at 9AM saying that the car had gotten there late last night in an enclosed tow that brought a 911 GT3 up with it - I'm glad it had good company the first '120 miles', although it had 2 miles at delivery.
I had a decently busy day of meetings from 10-5, so I swung by this morning to drop off the IND parts (Black Kidney Grilles, Reflector Deletes, Black Side Vents and Black X5M badge for trunk lid) and did the paperwork. MAG BMW in Dublin did a great job, I was in and out in 25 minutes. I stopped by this afternoon around 530, did a quick tour with the BMW Genius as the new iDrive is a little different than my F10 M5 and off I went. If I don't get the windows tinted tomorrow, the clear glass up front will drive me nuts. The car came out PERFECT and the 1200 mile break in will be tough, but I have a feeling I'll baby the car the first 1,000 miles or so anyways (I can have fun in my F10). Windows will be tinted tomorrow morning and she'll be ready to roll! Thanks for IND for getting the parts to me overnight although I only paid for 2 day shipping.    |

My friend's shop used Llumar window film and used a meter to match the rears at 15%.
The meter read 18% (iirc) and I would have preferred to go slightly darker for a better match but it is close enough.
