X15 new Key FOB are these the same?? Take a look!

Hi,

Original is Left

I have a new FOB (right) it is the new one
ANATEL 1277-13-2856
FCCID NBGIDGNG1
Model IDGNG1

Only the markings 5FA011927-33 (original has 11)
Only the markings 43/16 8.6/8.0 (Original 21/14 8.4/7.5)

Original FOB (working) - Left Part # 9337246-11
New FOB (cant program) - Right Part 6805998-01

The difference is that this does not have the horn panic button and as the FCCID, Model, IC and CMIIT are the same I thought it would work.

However I can not seem to enroll the new FOB. I was doing the open car with working FOB and then move that FOB away. Then take the new one and put it on the column (marking) and try to start. IT does not seem to see it.

My question is the new key compatible? If I check Real OEM the part number does say X5 - 434 MHZ M EUR vs 434 MHZ M US.

I know that this looks like its a EU key but are they the same frequency ? and how can I enroll this to my car?

Thanks !!

I thought only the dealer can program new remotes to a specific car?

I noticed on the newer X5 (2017 maybe?) The silver trim is plastic vs. the metal on my 2015 key. Mine has the panic button and the part# is 6612 9337238

I think BMW keys can be only attached to the car once, i.e. you can't buy used key on ebay and program it for your car. Also the instructions you are referring to are to code the key which was already programmed for your car by VIN, see info here

You are probably right. I know my 2015 key has a lot of small pits and scratches on the soft brushed aluminum finish. Maybe bmw decided to make it more durable with plastic.

Idk if I think of plastic as more durable than metal but I do prefer the weight of the metal over the plastic. Just another way to save money for them. Probably a third the cost to go plastic. I noticed this when I picked up a new key shell to replace my worn one off eBay. Thought it was a fake at first.
