they said plug and play.. but were not

the female harness does not accept the BMW Male Harness, not the same shape.

so i did some surgery, and completely removed the female harness housing on the lights.... i really just snapped them off.

but they fit in the recess flawlessly and you can adjust the angle of the symbol 360 degrees.

they work without an issue, and for $35 for two doors, why not. you can get other symbols such as M and X5

Very cool and Simple mod! 2 minutes a door!

It's interesting, not sure it's something I would do in the city, but it's surely different. Do they sell different patterns, like solid color lights? Maybe a black light would be a really cool effect.
This reminds me, are there still door handle lights on F15?

there are lights on the door handles, but these emanate from below the door jamb mounted on the bottom of the door.

i am not sure if the handle lights are to light up the location of the handle or if they angle down, i need to take a look

They are usually angled down but in total darkness and if the area is clean, they light up just enough to shine on the ground and make it easy to get it. If the vehicle is dirty I found it to just get stuck on the door for some reason.

Since I have been using comfort access, I don't think I ever see those lights anymore. With comfort access they should sense the keyfob close by and turn on automatically.
