Honestly, the headlights are as ridiculously bright as huge flashlight bulbs and there is nothing wrong with them for the sake of driving. But they are not angel eyes. Anyone who can give me an advice on the estimated price of possible upgrade to Xenon lights with Halo rings?

The BMW dealer here said that at present all that they can do is to replace wheels for my car, nothing else. Should I turn to a trusted BMW specialist factory? Will the warranty be affected?
What's your actual location (meaning what country designated X5 did you get) and your model number? You can buy all the parts by starting at realoem.com

Just a disclaimer though, retrofitments are not cheap.

Just curious, does the X5 not come standard with Bi-Xenon?

It does in the US. I think in select countries like Mexico, they don't.

It is true unfortunately. It is market specific. For international sales (e.g. Diplomatic sales) halogen are standard, only m50d gets xenon standard.

Buyer's regret... I had that too, when I pulled the trigger for my F13 3 years ago. I knew I should have waited for the M6, but I was weak-willed and my resistance was futile. A year and a bit later, when the new M6 came out, I wept for days because wifey said "I told you so, and now your bank account says NO" (well, she's the one saying no, but since she's also the banker, it's the final word).

So I'm stuck with a F13 640i when I should have waited for the M6, but at least she bought me the X5 as a make up birthday present earlier this year, so I'm a happy boy once again.

Buyer's regret. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

That's why I'm now sitting pretty and waiting quietly for the i8M....

Too many cost accountants and not enough QC people at US assembly plants.

One would think it would be cheaper to have a standard across the range e.g. auto box rather than have (small) exceptions that increase the costs; not just to hold stock and manufacture but to buy in and have that 'exception' on the factory floor

Even their spectacles receptacle (ala rural juror), which has to be $2 molded plastic trim is an option in some markets.

This is just sad...plain sad. BMW is seriously cheaping out on their options for many places. They should just build everything to one spec - if they have to disable something, they should just code it out only for that market.
