UK delivery times

Hello, the other half is looking at replacing their Touareg within the next year and a X5 is high on the list of possible replacements ( Jag F Pace and XC90 R Design being the others)

Does anyone know how long from order to delivery for a factory order in the UK? It would most likely be a 3.0d in M Sport trim with a few options chucked in.

Thanks for any help.

If this is in the wrong place apologies!

11-12 weeks.

The F Pace will be longer and the XC90 around the same, 12 weeks.

Thanks.

I thought it might be much longer than that. When the first X5 was launched I was a service advisor in a BMW dealership. Soon after launch our dealership's waiting list for a diesel was 18 months!!!!

Is it! I wonder why, perhaps people are buying more in January. I have ordered the 40d, maybe there's a difference in build times.

My 4.0D was ordered mid December and I have a build date of week 1 or 2 Feb (basically about now!). Then its a lottery on shipping, could take a week to get here, could take 4 depending on ship loading.

So your looking at around 6 weeks between order and build time. One week to build then up to 4 weeks shipping.

Unfortunatley mine is a company car and my firm will only issue cars in the 1st week of any month so I'm expecting a 1st of April delivery to me.

I've driven the new XC90 and its ok, but not a patch on the driving characteristics of the X5. Gearbox is'nt great on the XC90 either and its abit jumpy in sports mode. Saying that it is a lovely car and the space in it is amazing. You will feel like your driving a Range Rover though as it seems one hell of alot bigger than the X5! Unfortnately I've no experience with the new Jag.

Thanks for your feedback. We've only got as far as going to showrooms but the XC90 especially in R Design trim was really nice especially the interior. It's probably a tad big for us, we just need a big boot for two big German Shepherds. And I can't see how a 4 cylinder diesel will be equal to BMW's 6 cylinder lump.

The F Pace looks really good and we had a XF before which we loved so just waiting to see it in the metal and that all important boot space!
