Oil Filter holder broken

hello everyone,

so I was doing my regular oil change on my f15 and when I was trying to take out the old oil filter the piece that holds it in place broke. when I looked at it. The teeth inside broke for some reason. this made the spring inside come out. I keep looking online for the part but I can't find it. Also does anyone know a better way to take out the old filter? every time I have to change it to a new one it becomes a problem because the filter always gets stuck.
I posted a picture of the piece.
thank you for your help.

Garage List
Have you tried FCP Euro? They seem to have just about everything.

TOPEC , number 2 looks like the the cap. what I'm looking for is what's inside the cap. in the website you sent me it shows me the cap which can be seen from the outside when you open the hood. what i'm looking for goes inside the actual cap.
sdk8103, i'm going to check that website out. I didn't know if they were legit. thanks

Isn't the part number right on the part you're showing?

turboawd I have searched part number 2401643129 but that same piece doesn't come up at all. instead I get another cap with a similar piece attached to it. its a completely different set up from the one my Bmw came with since its two different pieces that are loose and not attached to each other.like the one they are showing me when I search for that part number.

turboawd I checked realoem, FCP, and I just check bmw of Atlanta since they have an online parts store and I haven't found anything yet. my last option would be to visit bmw of Manhattan which I don't want to since they like to add 50% more to their prices.

what u broke off (the stem part that holds the filter in place) is supposed to be attached to the cap no? so u order a new cap u get a new cap with the stem attached.
