It'd likely be both - but I doubt BMW will introduce Car Play soon. iDrive itself is one of the key technology differentiators for BMW, and Car Play is designed to be the "core" operating system of the car interface.
BMW would need to replace iDrive to provide the user experience Apple is attempting... |
