CarPlay Notifications Pop up

When using the iDrive 8.5 systems navigation and my phone being connected to CarPlay wirelessly , whenever I get a notification the CarPlay interface comes up then goes away after the notification goes away (5 or so seconds). Is there a way to disable that without disconnecting the CarPlay ?

Disabling the Auto CarPlay screen popping up when I get a notification on the infotainment screen.

One way of doing that is to disable notifications while driving, via Focus tab in iPhone settings.
