Space Gray, Ivory Nappa x35i M-Sport Delivered

My F15 came earlier than anticipated. Checked out all the "issues" area and all is well...so far (fingers crossed). I went over the car meticulously with the delivery checklist I made (if you want a copy, let me know) and she is a beauty! Here's the build order:

Space Grey Metallic
Ivory Nappa Leather Package
Fineline Oakwood Trim
M-Sport
20" wheels (469M)
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Package
Driver Assistance Plus
Dynamic Handling Package
Lighting Package
Luxury Seating Package
Premium Package
Side Window Shades
Adaptive M Suspension
Bang & Olufsen Sound System

I took these photos at the dealership, so it's nowhere as nice as chrisny's snowy back drop or fedmas's brookside photoshoot. If there's anything you want me to take a photo of to see in detail, let me know. Enjoy!

Thanks, everyone! I was driving home like a brand new dad with a kid in the car. Didn't want to "hurt" the baby. Haha! But I'll let her loose and see how she rides on the open road.

NikonMan, soon as you get your ride, we'll do a SoCal Meetup!

No worries! As long as you get it before my lease ends in 2016, we're good!

Few things that are annoying me right off the bat regarding my X5.

1) My WeatherTech liner isn't secure because my BMW cloth mats are secured with velcros and not hooks.
2) Can't find Stitcher App in the iDrive's BMW Apps.
3) Remote only opens the cargo doors and does not close like this video demonstrates (0:17 mark).

Otherwise, love the car!

Nice, Enjoy your newest. The fob holder is nice, prevents accidental openings. However, the inside rear hatch button can perform open & close. Are you referring to floor mats or cargo liner. For me the former has Velcro, latter nothing.

Thanks for the pics Zipforia, its the same color combination I went for - except I went with Ivory/Black with Space Grey.
Its really great to see the real world image of how these colors go together.

Looks great OP! Lots of options on that 35i....big $$$$!

Is this your first X5? If not, did you happen to have adaptive drive on your previous X5? Would love to gain your perspective of the DHP, specifically body roll.

Thanks!

I'm talking about the cabin floor liners. Not the cargo liner. RickP found me a solution. There are velcro attached hooks to secure the liner.

Yeah, this is my first X5. So I can't help you there. But as far as the DHP goes, it's very nice....relatively speaking.

I'm coming from an Audi S5, so there might be a bit bias here. Take my opinion with that in mind. I believe the X5 performs as it looks. It's a bit top heavy, drives like a sedan, takes bump pretty well, and corners moderate body roll. But when you engage the Sport+ mode, things get better. Everything tightens up a bit and throttle response is quicker and each gear held longer. But mind you, it's no sports car. For its size and what it was built to do, it moves VERY well....a lot better than other SUVs in its class.

Shaw,

Thanks!

I'm thinking remote cargo door closing might be an Eurpean model. I don't see what the big deal is with remote cargo door closing. My wife's Odessey does it.

Correct - US models only get remote opening via key fob - remote closing is decoded... You can blame lawyers for that. You can recode that feature of course once someone figures that out for the F15's.

Congrats Zipforia. What an awesome machine you have.

Regarding not being able to close the rear hatch via the remote, it seems BMW has deprogrammed that from the US cars over fear of some sort of liability issue (crushing the neighbor's kid or cat without knowing it maybe?)

Anyway, the hope is that someone out on this forum or Bimmerfest or somewhere else will figure out how to reprogram this back in. And share that knowledge with us all. And ditto for some of the other things that have been deprogrammed for the US.

Meanwhile, enjoy the ride.
