I have no idea, I am asking the dealer for VIN, but he says it's there, I don't think he's mistaken and I don't think anyone else has a Jet Black x-Line with White interior at the same time as me.

Impatient!

I wish I could have received an earlier production week. I finalized everything on 3 September and was told my production would begin this week. Still no word on if it did or not. I am military overseas and no tracking mechanism exists for us outside of calling the "Dealer". I have been told delivery would be around the end of November or the beginning of December. 90 Days!!!!! The wait is killing me!!!!!

Sounds about right. I'm build Nov, delivery Jan. Just a comment, but the anticipation is often better than the real thing and the real thing quickly becomes the old thing and you want the next thing (my perfect E70 X5 is so yesterday!). I know this to my cost with cars, watches, pens, clothes....!!!!!!

X5 35d stuck in "waiting for carrier" status when I call for 2+ weeks. BMW web site says production is not complete. Not sure what could be holding it up, ordered Sept 19th, Alpine White with mocha interior and lux package. Anticipation.....

You ordered in July and just got a VIN#??? That is really crazy! Why is your production date so far out? Are you also ordering through military sales program? If so, who?

I order through Bavarian Auto in Kaiserslaurten, DE. From what I hear, Euro dealers usually have a 3-5 month wait...all you States side order too many to and EU takes the leftovers....but hey, I only waited 4 weeks for my 335ixDrive!

Order details:
BMW X5d
Space Gray Metallic
Dakota Mocha Leather
Fineline Oak Wood Trim
Manual Rear Shades
Third Row seat
Driver assist package
18" all season tires
5 year shipping back to the U.S.

PRICE: $ 56,850!!!!!

It has been a very long wait since, as I mentioned above, we order in July and we finally got a VIN. I did change my build about a month after, so maybe that had to do with it...also, not sure if the diesel added more wait time. Looking at delivery 5-7 weeks after build, which means middle to end of december....This will be a great Christmas present for the wife!!!

That's very cool, and you get to pay US prices, that's even more amazing. Too bad you can't sell it there, or can you?

I could, but it's not euro specs, so it would be a hard sell unless is to another US member.

There are a lot of people sending vehicles from USA to Europe to sell, however the biggest concern is not the spec but instead the duties and taxes. The buyer would probably be taxed at local taxes in Europe but does this mean you can actually avoid duties this way? My guess is if the vehicle stays there and you come back and stay more than x amount of time in USA they will send you a bill for duties.

I can only sell to another U.S. Military member...otherwise is a big hassle and not worth it.
