Post BMW F15 X5 Suspension Options Chart and Comparison to Competitors

This F15 X5 suspension options (see 2014 ordering guide) chart helps clarify the difference between stock, DDC, Adaptive M, and the Dynamic Handling Package and also has the suspensions of some of the X5's competition listed for comparison.

Note: This is a US specific chart.

Waaaaaaiiiiit a minute, I thought the Touareg was "unparalleled??"

I kid, of course....

What's the source for this chart? Looks useful if accurate. Seems like BMW marketing might be the source but seems fairly on par with what I would expect. If that Infiniti is the FX, I would think it would score better for sportiness though. But I haven't driven one since an '04 I had.

I know there is also another Thread below this discussing the same questions (and sorry for beating a dead horse), but let's stick with this one...

If ordering, I would get the MSport w/out 3rd row and at least the $900 Adaptive M Suspension option. What more am I getting if I were to order the Dynamic Handling Package? My goal is sport not comfort. I would want the F15 to handle as flat as possible around corners unlike my E70. Is the ZDH worth a $3600 premium or would those monies be better off spent on other options for better resale?

Yes to F15. But as you move right on the chart, you get more "sportiness," better handling, less body roll. As you move higher vertically, it's showing more comfortable ride (less bumpy). Essentially, with the DHP, you'll get better handling AND more comfortable ride. This was the same with the adaptive drive included in the sport package on the early E70's, or with the m sport package on later E70's.

This was my opinion and I am sticking to it. I bet they did not even look at the new Toureg and used the old one for this chart.

so BMW is saying F15 X5 is both most comfortable and sporty SUV in the segment with the ZDH package, with no compromises?

Sportier AND more comfortable than Porsche? i don't believe it.

chart is not entirely complete, as the cayenne also has adjustable damper options. but certainly the customizable setup looks very enticing!!

I love graphs without any numbers. How was this data derived? How can you quantify this?

This just looks like a 3 year old put some stickers on a grid, and made it seem like BMW was better than everyone else.

I was thinking the same thing. For instance, the changes between the packages could be indiscernible to the human butt, or it could be as different as a horse and carriage vs. a Cadillac. Without numbers, it's left to the creator's perception/agenda.

So, BMW is saying that the M suspension is not the sportiest option?

Personally, I think even old e70 x5 handles better than Cayenne.

Am I reading that right? Each F15 suspension option is slightly less sporty than the E70?

Spot on, my fx35 sport pack was way sportier than my 11x5 sport. And my f15 with base does seem sportier/less roll than my 11x5

No that's not correct. Each f15 is further to the right than the e70.

Better comfort AND sportiness than any other SUV...
You guys swallow ANYTHING that comes out from Bmw marketing department.
And what is more funny is that you are so enthusiastic about every word they say even if it's a total BS.
Almost every article here becomes Marketing.

The only brand of coolaid I drink is BMW but I have to admit I agree. So the DHP almost doubles the "sportiness" of the stock setup? Doubt it. While personally I don't care about damper control but think active roll is amazing, the chat looks far fetched. I'd LOVE to see the same X15 or even other bmw with DHP and without on a track and see the difference. 1 second difference? More?
