Have you checked the dial near the center vents? If it's red it will be hot, blue will be cold

Looks like the passenger zone sensor needs to be looked at.
But do try this. Hit MAX AC button and see if it works.

Will need to do some digging in the diagrams. Do you have 4 or 2 zone?

Do you have rear dials? if so, it's 4 zone.
Regardless, does the center passenger vent blow cold..or is it just the door-by passenger vent that does not?

From a brief google search, it could be a loss of Freon pressure.
As such, AC may be shutting down one zone to compensate.
First, if you can, check for any codes being thrown. This may provide a lead.
Eventually, you will have to take it to shop to check Freon pressure, evapcore leaks etc.

I had a scare last week, but it went back to work after I hit the MAX AC button.
Must have kept the "warm" setting in each passenger profile as my wife had the same issue.
Car w/o fully working AC is kinda useless in these conditions.
Keep us posted!

I have the same problem in 50I right now, except driver side is hot and passenger is cold. I was told it is an actuator, does not throw codes. I have not fixed yet since I am turning over my vehicle Tuesday and moving to an X5M. Good luck with the fix.

I used to have this happen to my 330 a couple times a year. It was a freon leak and it would blow cold on passenger side, moderate on the center vent and hot on the driver's side. Even with dual zone, its still one compressor so I'd check freon.

It happened on our 2017 40e on RHS as well, but only when the engine was running and got put to normal running temperature. In pure electric mode, it worked normally since the engine never heats up.

Dealer diagnosed as the RHS system valve was shorted to open letting hot air in from engine. Part was replaced under warranty and in the year since it has not re-occurred.

Problem fixed. The issue was the heater control valve.

Hi, I have the exact problem.
What was the issue with the control valve? Was it loose? Did it require replacement?
Thx.

I’m having similar issues. How did you determine it was the heater control valve? Did you DIY?
