Yeah, he didn't get a "remedy available" letter either. Just called and inquired. The dealership SA took his car in and says it will be done in a few days. He said they've been doing a bunch of the EGR recalls and ran out of the part, and more supply will be in Monday/Tuesday. He left his car to save his place in line.

I'm pretty skeptical of the whole thing, as I was also under the impression it would be October. I'll update though. If they do actually complete the work on his 535d I'll try and make an appt for our F15. See what they say.

Just booked my 3GT 35d in for an oil service online at the dealer,
flashed up that needed the recall. Dealer called and said the recall
Is a bit early but they will do it anyway. Off in tomorrow so will
Update after.

Update, all done, replaced EGR and cooler, was in stock. So all good.
Apart from they identified a leak around the diff 🙄

They did complete the recall on my Dad's 535d. I got a copy of the work order with the part numbers. Going to call them this week and see if I can get the F15 scheduled in as long as the parts are the same.

My f15 got HFPF and EGR just done.

All fixed now

They put a New EGR Cooler (old version) on mine as new part was not in and had check engine for it. 9k rental they decided they rather do this and have me come back in fall when updated part is here. Rather drive this than rental so works well!

Anyone know when the remedy is available for this recall? I heard it was supposed to be Oct'23 but it may have slipped to sometime in '24.

How did you get this information? BMW site says that remedy is still not available and my service advisor says they don't have any information yet.

RED_Y_ - Makes me wonder if they are using old stock parts to clear the books on the warranty even though there is supposed to be a new revised part. I've heard of instances where dealers are using existing stock just to get the some of these diesels out of their shop.

Yeah I guess its possible they have parts left from the first EGR recall and they are using it as a temp solution .

Yes, what they did for me but was not pretending it was updated part but until new shows up. Worked well for me and prefer to drive my car over rental.

My 2015 X5 35d was done yesterday with the updated part mentioned above. Parts are available now, perhaps only limited quantities.
