Exclamation X5 sound like a Race Car-Help!

Hi-

I purchased a tow package kit and had it installed at the dealership.
My vehicle was at the shop for 2 days. It was a 5 hour job. I love the way the hitch looks but I noticed that my car sounds louder. The sound sounds accelerated-like a race car-turboish. I feel like I'm in a diesel truck.

What could have happened? The area where the hitch was installed is by the exhaust pipes and the muffler.Plus the bumper had to come off in order to install the tow hitch.

Oh, I forgot to mention that there is also what appears to be some sort of smell coming into my cabin (I think). At first, when I picked my car up I just thought that it was the smell of mechanics that had to be in and out of may vehicle.

But only...the smell is still there.I wind down my window to be on the safe side.

I may need a little more time to be sure that something may be coming into the cabin-because my son used a hand sanitizer and zi spray a perfume to try to cover up the initial smell from when I got back my vehicle.

Any thoughts?

Go back and get it checked NOW. Exhaust may have been lowered and not re-attached correctly. Exhaust smell in car is dangerous.

Keep us updated. But I agree, it sounds like something exhaust related got messed up.
