I ordered an sdrive xline and called every dealer in Houston, and the best I came up with was 3% off MSRP. One dealer told me he wouldn't sell below MSRP because demand was too high. Other dealers offered 1-2% off, but nothing more. I don't own a BMW, so I can't get the loyalty bonus and I am not yet a member of the club, so the 3% off is all I have.
It's crazy that some of you are getting for invoice price on a new model that is barely even on the streets yet - consider yourselves lucky!

I don't think anyone got it for invoice price. Everyone paid invoice + $$$.
If you can do PCD then you might get a better deal. You will have to drive it from SC or pay some $800 extra for delivery (this is in addition to destination charges)

I ordered mine on the 19th. GM promised me Invoice + $1000. I never owned a BMW before. My brother-in-law, however, owned several. GM told me if I can get one of his mail to be delivered to my house, then I can get the Loyalty Incentive, which makes the deal Invoice price only. If not, he'll still work something out with me (I think he mentioned some sort of incentive coming in Nov.). I received a copy of my order list and the prices (Invoice and MSRP), and compared it to my build from carprices.com and it was an exact match. I have no problems asking for Invoice and getting it if I can, because dealers always have some sort of deals with the manufacturer, such as Dealer Holdbacks and Manufacturer to Dealer Cash Back. Also, I'm not going to get out of paying for "Other" fees completely either, so the dealer is making money even if they are giving the car to me at Invoice.

I've also read others who got Invoice or at most $1000 over Invoice. I actually mentioned this to the GM and he gave me the deal mention above. Being active on this forum saved me a lot of money. I also called couple of other dealers prior to going to this dealer and spoke to the Internet Dept. and both of them said MSRP or above (I didn't mention the forum these times though).

Happy Hunting.

Z.

As a previous post stated as long as it fits the budget. Amount paid is a factor. Main thing is choosing the right vehicle with correct options, that is the hard part.
Curious to find out how the BMW Club Membership Reward works
Congratulations on your new X5!

^gene,

What was the MSRP of the car? Did you order or buy off the lot?

Thanks

If you're not getting 7% off of MSRP before incentives/discounts, you are doing it wrong.

I hear a lot of people talking about invoice price. It is a common game amongst dealerships to use a fake number in discussions. I have also seen many dealerships print out fake invoices to use during their bargaining. If anyone got the car slightly above invoice price, I congratulate you, but I find it very hard to believe. These cars are extremely hot right now, and dealerships don't want to give them away as such little profit. Especially when there are a number of people right behind you waiting to buy them. Just my 2 cents.

I have also heard that invoices are extremely hard for the average person to read. They are full of codes and such. So, if your invoice was fairly easy to understand, possible fake.

Hi Bug Rx - It's actually very easy to tell the basic invoice price. On BMW's, the MSRP on every item includes a 10% markup over the invoice price. The only item the MSRP doesn't include any markup on is the destination charge.

Of course, the invoice price calculated this way may still not be exactly what the dealer actually pays BMW for the car because there may be special allowances and incentives provided by BMW to the dealer that reduce his cost below the invoice price.

But in any event there should be no argument with the dealer about how much the invoice price is and how much less that is than the MSRP.

MSRP was $65,725. Got the car for $63,150 and 0.00125 money factor and 60% residual value for a 36 months ad 12K miles leasing. I also got the $1K loyalty cash plus $500 for returning my older leasing.
