wind/whistle noise w/window down

I prefer to drive with the window open and a terrible wind/whistle noise is heard when going 50+mph. very annoying. if I extend my hand and touch the outside mirror area it goes away. any thoughts?

Bad design, if you open up the driver side you get a whistle.

Open up the passenger you get a heavier whistle with some thudding.

Open only the sunroof and the luggage cover starts to bang in the trunk when in stationary position.

I have told my service adviser. As the weather is coming back around Im seeing my X5 at BMW's service drive for these to get fixed rather under my butt to drive.

If you literally want your head to pound, open just the rear windows part way. The thumping created will hurt your head. This isn't just an X5 thing. Any four-door car will exhibit this to varying degrees. Just an air pressure difference thing.

I'm taking my back for the 3rd time with only 2000 miles for the same problem. Did they tell you if they know how they can fix it?

Does anyone know how fix it?

If you mean with the air curtain, then no because all lines have the air curtains.

Could it be the little area on the side mirrors where the missing LED turn signal light is located it making the whistling noise?

I just came from the dealership about this problem with my 2020 X6. I don't even want the car anymore. The service agent said there's nothing BMW can do about this issue. He suggested I consider buying an aftermarket cosmetic covering for the side mirrors because he knows a customer who had success eliminating this whistling noise in his X5 by doing that. The service agent stated this is a known issue with certain BMW models.
