Your dealer is funny? My dealer is paying me half of my last months lease payment because he wants me to pick up in October. Car arrived much earlier than anticipated, I suspect it's part of the scheme, though..

There is something funny going on with these super fast deliveries and all dealers asking us to pick up early. I think we could have gotten more goodies but I am not pushing. I am already at my target price, and I am getting back my losses for returning early, if he doesn't come up with something sketchy last minute, I'll be OK.

Been in the build stage for over 10 days now. Must be some delay????!!!!

Mine went into production on 10/22 and status as of last night was waiting for the carrier! Should be at the dealer next week I believe.

Just wanted to provide another data point for those who are ordering for delivery in the SF Bay Area.
9/8/14: Order placed with dealer (xDrive35i fully loaded). Scheduled for production week 40 (starting 9/29/14)
9/20/14: Revised order, confirmed with CA. Changes showed up on MyBMW a few days later.
9/29/14: Called 800 number, rep said car is in production with est. completion date 10/1/14.
10/1/14: Est. completion date changed to 10/6/14.
10/3/14: Car enters paint shop. Got the car's VIN.
10/6/14: Car production is finished. Waiting for assignment to carrier.
10/10/14: Car leaves SC to Oxnard via train.
10/18/14: Arrival at Oxnard VPC.
10/22/14: Car picked up by Waggoner's Trucking for delivery to dealer.
10/23/14: Arrived at dealer.
10/29/14: Car is in my garage, looking awfully nice!

So, from start of production to final delivery, it took a total of 25 days. That's not bad at all. I was lucky that the dealer gave me a good allocation slot.

10/8/2014 – Phone Rep: In production as of today and Estimated Production Date 10/11.
10/10/2014 - Production Begins: Your vehicle is being built from start to finish.

10/16/2014 - Production Ends
10/17/2014 - Finishing Touches "One last check to make sure your vehicle is perfect. After that, it will be sent to the dealer."

If the 800 # says "waiting to be released to carrier" does that mean that finishing touches and quality control checks are fnished?

Ordered mine on the 25th. Got my production number on the 27th...website is still showing nothing. I live in Charlotte so I'm hoping that it will only take a day once the truck is finished.

Congrats. That's a really nice build -- except no Adaptive M Suspension? For $900 it's a no-brainer.

What's your production build week? Ask your dealer if you don't have this info. This will tell you when your X5 will be built.

11/5/14: Latest update. My X5 50i M-Sport is showing finishing touches. Kim my CA said it should be on the truck today or tomorrow and I should have it early next week.

Hi all, I ordered the new X5 3 weeks ago and got the build number the next day. It went into production yesterday. We're moving from the 35d to 35i since we don't drive enough miles to make the diesel cost effective anymore. But, I really like the the diesel we have, the torque was fun at stop lights!. Finding fuel was not an issue. Anyway, I ordered the 35i black sapphire, black dakota, drivers assistance and driver's + (did not get ACC, but kinda wished I did), luxury seating pkg, premium pkg and ceramic controls (as requested by my wife, lol). It's really her vehicle and she likes black, what can I say. What I thought was funny, when I looked on the BMW website, it says "in production", then "production ends", the "en route to US." Since they're built in SC.

Placed the order on November 1st and received the production number on 11-3. Hoping to get it before the snow starts!

For a UK order I think I'm on for record time

I ordered my car via Alphabet - leasing - 22 Aug.
After some chasing my order was placed 29 Aug.
I got electronic contracts sorted 12 Sep.
I then was expecting it in the UK 29 Nov, but it was brought forward to 7 Nov.

Finally I got through to the dealership who would be handling it and after PDI and transport, it will be reaching my house next Wednesday, 12 Nov.

So ~10 weeks from Order to Delivery, which is pretty decent.

I've ordered an X5 30d M Sport in Carbon Black with Black Dakota leather interior... though now really liking Space Grey!
