Chemical Guys is the way to go for the soap and all related products (except the pressure washer).
Note that there are differences among foam guns, cannons and blasters, and not all work universally with pressure washers. Some typically work only with garden hoses, and others are specifically designed to work with pressure washers. Some pressure washers have universal adapters to which foam guns will work, and some don't. For example, AR Blue has proprietary adapters that Chemical Guys' foam cannons won't connect to. It's not a big deal, but before you buy, just make sure the foam canister you want to buy can connect with the pressure washer you're looking at, or that an adapter is readily available.

I do not, it comes with a "cleaning bottle" that hooks up right in front where I fill up the mothers (diluted).
youtube.com/watch?v=CrO-nHYFbGM (at 1:41 you can see what I am talking about). After I tried it like that I saw no need to buy a foam gun, cant get cleaner then clean. This thing has great power for a electric pressure washer. I also like using this.... Wash Mitt ] http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o04_s00 [ and this for waxing ect. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o09_s00 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o04_s00 I dont lease the vehicle so...might not be instersting for everybody... FYI: That's not me in the video haha, just google'd it really quick to show you what I'm talking about. |

I have a gas powered washer so can't comment/recommend an electric model.
I have both the foam gun (Gilmour Foam MasterII) as well as the Foam Cannon. The former/garden hose hookup type will only get you watery suds no matter how much product you put in the canister. If you want the sticky snow foam that sticks to the car, only the foam cannon via strong pressure washer will provide that. In the video that PlayTookies linked, there's a subsequent video of the 1800 model where the guy used the foam cannon that came with the washer. As you can see, it did not create snow foam. Not sure if it was due to the washer pressure (1800psi vs the 2000psi unit) or whether he didn't have the nozzle set correctly.

I've got one of the greenworks ones that seems great (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o03_s01), but haven't used it on the car yet. To be honest, I was afraid it was too damn powerful as it can remove the stain from my weathered outdoor deck, and has blasted paint off of some surfaces as well. I've been hand washing to this point. Any tips or threads on ways to safely use a pressure washer? Man, what a time saver it could be... Thx

I've used an AR Blue Clean for several years now. Still going strong. I bought the Foam Canon through them, also. It was right around 50 bucks. This past fall I ponied up and bought a Kranzle K2017T. I kind of geek out on detailing stuff. So, why not. I've used it twice and I would have to say their PSI rating is more realistic. The fan on their nozzle is more consistent. It's just all around nicer, but you pay for it.
I refuse/boycott Chemical Guys stuff. The guy in their videos is such a ding dong. I can't pull myself to give them my money. I use Adam's Car Shampoo. It's the goods.... [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Btw, I only use the pressure washer/foam cannon if the car is really dirty. Otherwise, just normal hose and bucket for regular washes. Getting everything setup with the pressure washer is a PITA for maintenance washes.

I have started the geek out process myself. Just purchased this: http://www.amazon.com/DI-120-Cr-Spot.../dp/B0056HDCUM I have seen the Kranzle around on other posts as well. Seems like the way to go. I may give the AR Blue or another one a shot first and see how it goes. Thanks for the pic, thats the way to go IMO, especially for black paint. The less I touch it the better. |
