left and right motor mount replacement

hi everyone , I have a 2016 x5 50i with 75000 miles on it. I took it to Braman BMW dealership in west palm beach ,because I have a vibration when accelerating . they told me that the 2 motor mount collapse and need to be replaced. they charge me $4141.06 before tax .I find that super expensive.
please let me know what do you think.
thank you

Well mounts are about $130 each:
https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...nt-22116780653
So $300 in parts, $3700 in labor sounds very high, unless something else is broken. Just get a second opinion from your local indi shop.

Not sure if the OP is a bot or not after the double posting, but for anyone else reading this for information, if you have basic tools and jack stands, youtube, and a little bit of wrenching ability replacing motor mounts is a pretty simple couple hour task.

I would YouTube and check that your mounts retain pressure.

Visually inspect them underneath as well.

And check your vacuum control valves if your mounts are that type. I have a 35d so I don't know how your bay is setup 🤷🏽

After all that done, then I'd be looking for replacements. DYI diagnosis is the way to go. You tube is your friend.

Negative. e70 N63 v8 motor mounts are not an easy task to complete. Many things need to come out to access the top bolt and you need an x5 specific engine support rig. The mounts are not the same as the x5 35i.

Even the 35i are not an easy Diy. I had mine replaced at an indy for around 3 hrs labour. 4k for that is beyond ridiculous.

Agree. One of the few jobs I paid an independent to do over the last 15 years of DIY’ing in BMWs. This was in my x35i.

Money well spent IMO. Was about $950

This isn't the E70 forum. Although I'm sure the F15 isn't much different.

What symptoms were present to indicate faulty motor mounts?

Should be a vibration when sitting at idle.
