Black kidney grilles with night vision

Just did the retrofit with the M Perf grilles today and took some additional pictures that explain the two parts of the slats. I also ended up roughly painting the NV grill back so you don’t see the change of color along the sides of the slats. Hope this helps some of you.

Yes. This is exactly what I did. I ordered a set of black "regular" grill and used the black outer rings. Fits perfectly. From BMWpartspros.com, have to add the RT side for another $78 :

Scroll down and find the grills....It says "not for night vision", but you are just using the black outer rings, which will fit perfectly.... Be VERY careful removing the outer ring since the little plastic clips will break easily. I broke a few when removing the original chrome set, so I knew to be careful with the new set and was able to remove them without breaking the tabs:
