Cargo cover storage
Hi
I just watched a youtube video of a demonstration of how to store the retractable cargo cover in the trunk of the X5. When I went to try the same thing, it didn't seem possible although my cargo cover also has a built-in partition net. Is it just me being dumb, or it isn't possible with my 2014 F15? Cheers Mark |

who-lee-chit! Are you talking above the battery? I didn't realize it could be stored there! Now I wanna try when I get home since my cover is just collecting dust on a shelf.

And if you have the storage compartment pkg…there may be slight difference with that option pkg, too.

The video I found was a G05. I'm going to see if the same applies to my F15 without spare

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOlzcv_OzCE I understand there are differences between models but was hoping that this would have been something that could be achieved with the F15. |

It has always seemed like an oversight not designing a place for the cargo cover into the lower storage area. Glad to see they remedied that on the G05. Unfortunately, my E53, E70, and F15 still remain having storage hangers on the wall when not in the vehicle. Fortunately, that's not very often.

Up until the G05…I liked the e39 5 series Touring’s cargo cover set-up. It came with both the cover and the cargo net/divider built into the same cassette…and it could be used to cover and/or divide the rear cargo area….or if you folded the rear seat backs down…you could move it to a 2nd location further toward the front,
This 2nd location mount was on the front edge of the bottom seat cushions. It also 2nd as a storage location if case you were out and about and needed to load something in the rear cargo area but needed to remove the cargo cover. When mounted…you could still seat passengers in the rear seat and store the cover. I was disappointed when I got my e53 X5 and BMW didn’t carry that great design over into that model.
